A good day for rats in cork

Post by KayleighsSanctuary on Fri Jan 10, 2014 4:46 am

not sure how many are aware of sullys petshop in cork but yesterday we got confirmation that it was shut down! this place was abominable often with dead animals on display, no food/water, enrichment was a far away dream, cramped conditions of mixed ages and sexes.  Smile

I have heard horror stories about this place - probably on this forum. Was it shut down or did it just go out of business? Some petshops are really awful. There is one here in Dublin that keeps breeding pairs of rats in what appear to be smaller than ten gallon tanks - the females are perpetually pregnant - there are always litters. It is just disgustingly cruel. I have no idea where the demand is - the place also sells reptiles so take from that what you will.

Lol - but we most remember that inbreeding, used in the correct way, is an invaluable tool for fixing beneficial traits - but used in the wrong way....well....  Big Grin
