swelling

Post by smokierat on Thu Dec 08, 2011 8:18 am

Ralf is seeing far too much of the vet these days,my poor little thing. She has recovered really well from the suspected stroke, the vet was really impressed with her form today, you'd never know anything happened except for her limp, and that hasent even slowed her down Big Grin Love she is after developing a lump on her neck and another one on her side, last fri and sat so theres been a lot of ups and downs these last few weeks but im inspired by her kickass atitude so am trying to stay positive Smile this post is really just a bit of a ramble,(a very long ramble Embarrassed )as its a wait and see kind of thing at the moment,The vet gave her anti inflamatory and antibiotics injections and we'll go back friday to see if there is any improvement.Ive gone through the different things it could be,but cant really get a proper feel of it as she gets a bit squirmy and stressed, shes had enough people pawing at her and injecting her lately!i presumed tumour first, then thought maybe a dental related abcess(but dont think its in the right place) and lymph gland issues...next option according to the vet is exploratory surgery,am really hoping it doesnt come to that but have to be prepared for all eventualities/choices to be made...She has a lot of non ratty people fans as well as ratty people, she has a brilliant personality and a lot of people rooting for her so please keep up those crossed fingers Smile

I would ask for needle biopsy if you're unsure. I'm in the city on Friday, quite late on - if you're about I can come and have a look and let you know my humble thoughts?

I don't remember her having a stroke (unless I just hopelessly forgot Roll Eyes Embarrassed ) what made the vet think that? It's quite rare, and pretty easily figured out... :/

xx

Hmm - interesting. What time are you guys around tonight? Better off texting me TBH as I'll be out all day. Will be free to leave Mahon Point after rush hour, so probably around 6.30-7.00
