Diarrhoea

Post by katherine on Sat May 12, 2012 9:28 am

Forz suddenly has terrible diarrhoea Sad Roll Eyes whole cage/room stinks and I had to give him a little bath it was that bad - his back end all soaked Sad I have been giving him nutrical all week could that have caused it? Other than that he hasn't had anything new but last night they had avocado which they haven't had in quite a while, however the others are all fine.

His abscess also is looking bigger again Sad I'm worried about the little guy

Sad Poor old man... I hope this is just a minor setback. I would say the nutrical could cause his stool problems, especially if he's not having a whole lot else, if he's on antibiotics, that won't help either.

xx

Hope the hand so e man feels better soon Love and sorry to hijack Katherine Embarrassed but how dangerous is this for ratties?Pixie had some very yellow messy poo around her back end earlier, probably due to the antibiotics Sad a teeny touch of evidence during the week, literally just a smidge so I kept an eye on her and didn't see any evidence until this evening....would probiotics work or is that more of a preventative?poor baby is looking understandably stressed, babies are being really mean at the moment and she looked a bit rough today on and off Sad

Apologies for also hijacking the thread..
smokierat, is it just Pixie and the babies? I found that when Monk was very old, or even when Albie was struggling to get about and the little boys were tormenting him that the retirement cage was a good place for them to have a few hours on their own to have a break. With Albie, he obviously moved there long-term, as did Monk I suppose for her last few days. But you could even try just a few hours a day, to give her a little break from them if she is having a hard time.
Just an idea Wink
