Hi there Smile
Zounds is the only reputable breeder here in Ireland. Her rattery is based in Cork and if you type Bongo Fury Rats into google you will find their site. Some of the members have babies from her litters and are all happy with their beautiful, confident rats. There is a waiting list for her kits so you should probably get in touch with her.
Hope this helps Smile

Can honestly say that BongoFury babies would be worth having to wait a little bit or travel Love if you want healthy, happy ratties like my gorgeous girls Pixie and Willow

I drove from southern England to Swansea to get some Bongo Fury rats and they were well with the journey. Smile

Seconding (thirding?) the above. I've only had Bongo Fury boys and rescues and the rescues have (all but one) made me swear by Bongo Fury boys. They're like a different species in comparison to my petshop bred rescue boys - so rat and human friendly, I wouldn't want to be without a couple Love

Hi there Smile

There are currently no registered breeders in Dublin, but it depends what you're looking for. There will doubtless be breeders in Dublin, but they will be for petshops, snake food etc. We'd be the most local breeders breeding to improve health and temperament and working with established lines. Smile

We would never recommend buying from petshops Sad they purchase their rats from horrible rodent farms where they are just churned out in their hundreds in awful conditions, with no care at all towards health, temperament, structure etc. Also, it's not at all unusual for petshops to sex them wrongly, so that they are pregnant when they leave the shop (with females obv.)

I do urge you to look for breeder or rescue, it's honestly well worth the wait Smile

i agree with zoundz!

I've seen a petshop in dublin and NO WAY i ever would buy a rat there. In the Netherlands its bad but in ireland it seems even worse, so please don't support them and find a shelter or a breeder. Patience is the key! And definately worth the wait!
