Would anyone be interested in basic hammocks? :)

Post by Zoundz on Thu Mar 28, 2013 8:03 am

I'm trying to make a bit of spare cash (at the moment mostly putting back into materials as the more I can make the more practice I get and the nicer they will be and then I can charge more for nicer ones! IYSWIM?)... mostly to help out with vet bills (we've had a lot of trouble lately and had stuff tested etc).

Anyway - I hand sew - I do have a machine, but it takes me just as long I find... will probably try and get back up and running with the wretched appliance if I can though! Laugh

Would anyone be interested in basic flat fleece and jersey/brushed cotton hammocks for their rats? Smile I'm not sure what I'd be charing yet, possibly €2-4 each depending on how long they take etc...

Just trying to put out feelers as to whether it's worth it? Smile

xx

I would be interested. They are the first thing to start ponging and with five girls in my living room, I need to alternate hammocks every third day. I never have enough as one girl, Peig has developed a taste for fabric!

Those really rubbish Trixie hammocks (I have a bunch) retail for around the 8 euro mark. I think with materials and time, you should charge a little more than 2-4 euro. Add a little Bongo Furry logo to your hammocks and sell them as designer Wink

We'd definately consider it

We normally pick up some fabric and jury rig a hammock out of it for about that price.
But the lads do looove their hammocks, so of course destroy them once they get comfortable.
I actually have a few pics I've been meaning to upload, but have been too lazy Tongue

If you could post a pic, or some more details you'd win us over I'm sure Smile
We just need something quilted, as Rocksteady especially loves destroying the linings... (he's getting in a very 'nesty' mood)
