The New Cage

Post by DJF on Sun Mar 31, 2013 3:12 am

As I took in two lovely brown hooded babies from an Oooops litter, I had to get a new cage to accommodate five girls. Here it is.

Hassle free assembly.

The set up.

I did like the Savic Zeno 2 but the access is a bit rubbish. For any people starting out with rats like myself, I absolutely suggest a cage that has easy access. Trying to squash into a cage to hang hammocks and catch skittish kittens can be frustrating!

Any suggestions to improve the layout are most welcome!

@katherine, the bucket is from Ikea. It has a frame with two sticky out bits that can be bent. They bucket then fits in the frame. I give it to them for digging and the once weekly meal worm fest. Now, that's oddly fun to watch in a eww sort of way!

I can't find the exact pot I got on their website the design is similar to this one:

http://www.ikea.com/ie/en/catalog/products/50233846/

I want to try and add a small coconut lined hanging basket. They love swinging off ropes and perches so I guess they would enjoy a swinging basket.

It looks really cool, must get one. I love looking at other people's set ups and stealing their ideas... so much easier than thinking of my own Laugh But in all seriousness, thank you Smile
