Just made my first rat cube!

Post by Dangerousbeans on Sun May 19, 2013 3:22 am

As title says, I have just made my first rat cube!
I used some chewed fleece cut into rectangles and the leg go a pair of cheap wide leg jeans my daughter got to cut into shorts last summer.
Looks ok...ish, denim outside, fleece lined, I'll post pics after dinner.

Entrance is a bit rough but you can see 2 girls in there already, and the turquoise lining.

That looks the business! I was looking at the no sew variety but doubt I would even manage that. Complete patience deficit!

I could of done easier one, my daughter was just going to cut the leg off a jeans and cut a rectangle of fleece to line it, join ends of fleece and then sew around the open end of jeans leg to attach fleece, add loops to hang.

But I got fancy, don't know why I bothered, the ate a big hole in one of the back corners the next morning, apparently I forgot the back door!

Looks fab though, never made a cube myself, I make flat hammocks all the time, but must try a cube some day!

xx

I figured the denim would be a bit tougher than just fleece, it's big enough for everyone too.
